We believe that specifications of the phones just tell the half story, a great user experience matters more than great specifications. So, while preparing this list we have considered everything, the specifications, hardware, software (UI), real-world performance, user experience, brand value, after sales service and more. We see a phone as a complete package which should at the end deliver great satisfaction to the user and our rankings are based on the same principles. We consider hundreds of phones, from biggest to the smallest brands and come with our honest rankings every month.

1. Coolpad Note 3 Lite:

Coolpad which entered India few months ago with its Coolpad Note 3 which became popular as the cheapest phone with Fingerprint scanner in India has launched a bit toned down version of the phone as Coolpad Note 3 Lite, which also comes with a Fingerprint scanner and has now become the cheapest to come with Fingerprint scanner in India. You can use the fingerprint scanner to quickly unlock the device, you can also protect the installed apps on the phone with the help of built-in app “FP lock” and can use the fingerprint scanner to unlock them. Design wise, the phone carries similar design of the Coolpad Note 3 which is very simple except the Golden borders surrounding the phone’s front. Soft Mate finish back panel feels good in hands and gives good grip. It features a 5 inches HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with 294 ppi pixel density and good display quality. The phone runs on 1.3 GHz 64-bit Mediatek MT6735 Quad-Core Processor coupled with 3 GB RAM, which is the highest RAM you can get in a phone under 7000 Rs. The performance of the phone is good and it handles gaming well. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite sports a 13 MP rear camera which has good depth but the colors look little washed out. It has a 5 MP front facing camera which produces decent selfies. It runs on Android v5.1 Lollipop with company’s highly customised COOLUI 6.0 skin running on top. It is a dual sim smartphone supporting 4G on both the sims. It has got 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. The phone is backed by a non-removable Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery which gives a battery life of around one day with normal usage. Overall, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes with unmatched specs and features at this price. It is specially good in performance and the fingerprint scanner, at the same time, phones with better UI, camera and design are also available at this price but, if you look at the complete package it is a great value for money phone and is currently the best mobile under 7000 Rs. in India.

3. Micromax Yu Yuphoria:

The competition is the fiercest now! And as the result of the competition just see what we are getting now at this low price. With the Yuphoria, Micromax has tried to put everything we would want in a phone – A great design with metal frame, good build quality, good software, a very good performance, good cameras and a decent battery life. Well in no manner I am overstating about the phone. Micromax has actually stuffed the phone too much at a very low price. It runs on a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM. The 5 inches HD display of the phone is good and comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a good 8 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture lens which means it allows the sensor to capture more light and increases the DOF (Depth of Field), in short it takes pictures with good quality. The 5 MP front camera with 4p lens & 85 degree wide-angle lens allows you to capture great selfies with more people in it. The Yuphoria is also great in storage with its 16 GB internal and a upto 32 GB expandable storage. It also offers 4G and dual sim support. When it comes to design the phone looks and feels great. It has metallic edges which adds a great value to the feel of phone, the big circular camera module at the back also looks good. The 2230 mAh battery doesn’t promise a huge battery life but it’s good. If we talk about the downsides, the phone faced minor software issues, many of them have been fixed and few bugs will be fixed in the upcoming updates, well there is nothing to scare the phone is very good. Overall, the phone is a complete package, it offers good performance, best design and is another great phone you can get at this priceIf you are a little low on budget, you can also go with the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 with 13 MP camera at Rs. 5,999, it can be an excellent choice as well. The newly launched Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G at 6,599 Rs. can also be a good alternative.
